Job Profile: Site Contracts Manager -16 months from 01.08.08

The Site Contracts Manager belongs to the Contract Management Department and will be assigned to a specific project. He/She will undertake his/her duties primarily on the construction site. He/She supports Site Management and the Project Team in
managing contractual issues relating to the customer, the consortia partner(s) and subcontractors.

The Site Contract Manager acts as a counterpart to the Contract Manager in the Project Team. The work may require an induction week in Germany prior to commencing duties on the construction site in the Netherlands.
Contracts and correspondence are generally in English or German.

Required Qualification:
. Mechanical, Heavy Civils or Quantity Surveying background with appropriate
qualifications
. Good understanding of contract law
. Fluent in English both written and spoken
. Knowledge of additional languages (German, French, Spanish, Italian) welcome
but not essential
. Demonstrate a flexible approach and with excellent interpersonal, organizational
and presentational skills
. Computer literate
Required Experience:
. At least 8 years full time experience in a similar sole contract management
position
. Experience in power generation or mechanical/piping major EPC and
subcontracts
. Contract interpretation and review, highlight and advise Project Management of
all possible company liabilities, notice periods, onerous or conflicting contract
provisions, condition precedents etc.
. Defend incoming claims and prepare outgoing claims, review and prepare
contractual correspondence and support project management in negotiation
meetings
. Familiar with the preparation of major construction claims up to for arbitration.
